An Intercessory Ministry
|
“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear." Matthew 11:28-30 TPT Beloved warriors...rest is a weapon. We war and war and war. We need to know when to put our offensive weapons down and run to the Father. Resting in our Father's lap is so important. When we sit in His presence, this also is a form of war. The devil doesn't want us to do this because if we are worn out then we won't be as efficient. Even military soldiers are given R and R-rest and recuperation. As intercessors, many people run to us when they need prayer. Because we love and have compassion, we say "OK, I will pray for you and for your intentions." We also get wounded in battle frequently because we are on the front lines, so it is very important to go to God and ask Him to heal our wounds. Likewise, when a soldier in battle is wounded, she is sent to the field hospital to get healed and rehabilitated before being sent back on the front line. If the soldier continued to fight while wounded, she would not be as effective and runs the risk of getting infection. I compare unhealthy bacteria settling in a wound to dark spirits that enter a wounded heart. From 2017-2018, I warred heavily for the Lord and was "hit" time and time again by the enemy. Finally, I was advised to go away and that if I didn't, I might crash! Mentally-Emotionally-Physically. I was advised to not go near a phone or a computer. I followed the advice and God dropped a financial gift in my lap so that I had the money to take a small vacation, just me and God. I thought this was all I needed to get healed and restored. However, God gave me a whole year to rest. A busy intercessor friend of mine recently took a month off because she felt God telling her "Come away with Me." She dropped everything for one whole month. No ministry. Just resting and soaking in His presence. Our primary focus needs to be on loving God. Not on ministry. Not on striving. Striving is the opposite of resting. I've heard Graham Cooke, who has a world-wide ministry, say that God told him to spend 60% of his time at work resting in His presence and 40% taking care of ministry tasks (daily). When we operate this way, God does the moving and the shaking. He releases His "ministering spirits" to co-labor with us and great and mighty things happen (Hebrews 1:14)! It is in the secret place that God ministers to US! We are valuable and worthy of TLC-tender love and care! So let's run to the Father, our Bridegroom Jesus, and Holy Spirit daily. Let's take our burdens, wounds, and weariness to God and let Him heal, restore and fill us up so that when we minister or war for Him, it will be out of the abundance that He poured into us. "Sit in His presence. Rest in His love. Soak in His grace. Rise with renewed purpose" -Karla Lees MY PRAYER FOR YOU "When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai; you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence...His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?...God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm...Because you have delighted in me as my great lover, I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast. You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you."
