Why Travel to the 50 States?

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9

God told me to go the 50 states to hold a nightwatch in each state and make a decree. My first response to the question of why I am going to the 50 states is simply, "God told me to." Some people question the fact that God spoke to me and gave me a mandate. Yet we read in the Bible Peter's words, "The Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings."¹ Throughout the Bible we read how the Spirit of God led people (including Jesus) to go to certain places, nations, or regions and with whom to accompany them on their journey.
            I'm being posed these questions regarding the commission that God has given me to travel to the 50 states of America... "Why did God tell you to go the states?... "Why do you have to travel across the nation in order to pray for it?"... "Can't you stay home and do that?" After pondering these questions I've come up with 3 reasons. However, before I share what I feel are the reasons, I'd like to say that I try not to make it my practice to ask God the question "Why?" If I ever catch myself doing that, I immediately repent. When God tells me to do something, I desire to say "Yes Lord." My examples are from the Bible. When Jesus was preparing to go to the cross, He said to the Father, "Not my will, but Yours be done."² Jesus chose to obey the Father. When the angel Gabriel came to Mary and asked her to be the mother of Jesus, she replied, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word."³ When Jesus came to Simon Peter and Andrew and said "Come follow Me," they obeyed. They didn't respond with the question "Why?"
            When things were happening in Job's life and he lacked understanding, He asked God "Why?" God's response was quite long, but we learn from it that God's ways are higher than our ways; His knowledge and wisdom are far above Job's or our human ways.⁴ When God tells me to do something, I want to obey Him because I love Him, and so I respond,"Yes Lord."
            I will now explain more in depth the reasons why I feel that God has called me to travel to the states. One reason why God calls a person to do something that is not easy and is out of their comfort zone is because radical obedience moves the hand of God. God responds to radical obedience with radical love and mercy. Let's look at an example found in the story of Jonah who was told by God to go to a nation and warn it of God's judgment. We all know what God did in response to Jonah's disobedience and we should not forget this lesson today. Let's choose to be like Jonah when he obeyed God. When Jonah finally did what God told him to do, a nation's heart was turned toward God and God relented from releasing His judgment on it.⁵
            In addition, in God's kingdom, whenever there is death, or a dying to self, there is a raising of new life. Jesus' life is a prime example of this, but He also explained this concept in the book of John when He said, "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit."6  I believe that God has showed me that because I (and my team) am dying to self (by leaving my home, my family, my agenda) in order to put God's agenda above my own, He is releasing life to the nation. I heard God say to me one day in reference to the intercessors who are traveling around the nation to do His bidding, "They are life releasers."
            Another reason why God is calling intercessors to travel and pray together is because it is bringing unity to the nation. At each gathering, people are coming from various cities, regions and states and through prayer, God is uniting them and making them "one heart, one mind and one spirit."⁷ This unity is causing strength to rise up in the nation. We all know that there is strength in numbers and we see this truth in the Bible, "A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart."⁸ Also, God showed me that what He is doing in the connecting of intercessors, is creating a large fishing net. This net will be used to gather a mighty harvest in the nation.
            Lastly, God has chosen to make me His mouthpiece. God has asked me to go to each state and speak His words from Ezekiel 36:269 over the nation. I have created a banner that has this promise printed on it, along with the prophetic image that God gave me depicting a large heart in the center of the U.S. map and a fire that is sweeping across the nation, causing the frozen, hardened heart to melt. When I do a nightwatch, I hang this banner and make God's decree. I have a story to tell you about this banner that is a sign that the decree and vision is from God. It is a miracle straight from the hand of God. After I had done my 4th nightwatch, I realized that one of the metal grommets from the banner had broken off. I made a mental note to purchase another one so that the vinyl banner would not tear. However, I forgot to do this and when I arrived at the next nightwatch I had gone up to the banner that had just been erected and saw that there was no missing metal grommet. I very excitedly asked this team member if he had replaced the grommet for me and he replied no. I went to all of my team members and they each had the same response. I concluded that God had done it! "Why would God do such a thing?" one may ask. My guess is that God wanted to give validation to me, my team and anyone else who may doubt my calling to take this decree to the 50 states and speak it over the nation.     
            The majority of people (including Christians) will not understand my message or my reasons why I am traveling to the 50 states because they are living by the standards of this world. Many Christians have eyes only for the natural world and therefore not for the supernatural world. They have not been taught what the Bible tells us regarding the inheritance that we receive when we invite Jesus into our hearts. When we receive Jesus, we become co-heirs with Him and we receive those traits and gifts that are derived from the Kingdom of heaven.10 They cannot understand God's ways which are supernatural and are filled with mystery and require faith to believe, so they will not understand why God would tell me to go to the 50 states to pray. To this group of people I would ask this question, "Why would a 50 year-old housewife leave the comforts of her home which she loves, to travel to the 50 states when she hates to travel and hasn't the money in the bank to purchase flights nor the possession of a private jet?" There's only 1 answer. She was met by "Love."11 And Love said to her "Follow Me." And like the apostles who met Jesus and heard His call, she dropped everything and followed Him.
