An Intercessory Ministry
|
I saw a massive wave crash over the Capitol building. Immediately following, I saw the people inside on their knees and weeping. I received this vision at a prayer gathering where I had led in prayer for America. It was only weeks before my trip to Washington, DC for the first Awaken the Dawn¹ prayer gathering on the National Mall. It would be the first of 4 trips to DC in 1 year's time. I feel that the wave represents a move of God over DC that would cause our government leaders to weep in repentance for their sins with the revelation that Jesus Christ is their Savior.
I headed to DC in October 2017 as Rhode Island's representative for Awaken the Dawn, being held from the 6th through the 8th. My job was to oversee the running of the RI tent for the 3 days of non-stop worship and prayer on the Mall. I brought with me the banner that I had made which depicts the US map vision and decree that God gave me the year prior. The image has a large map of the US and a heart in the center. The decree is based on Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." When I arrived at the RI tent, I hung this banner on the back wall along side another banner I had made which depicts Rhode Island's symbol of the anchor, representing hope. God had given me an assignment to carry out while there. He told me to go to the 50 tents representing the 50 states and decree Ezekiel 36:26 over each. I accomplished this assignment on October 8th, taking 2 parts of the day to complete it. I did this alone as I had no one to do it with me. However, when I arrived at each tent, I asked to speak with a leader(s) and asked them to agree with me in prayer as I made the decree of the Lord. Amazing things happened at the tents. God's glory fell each and every time. Sometimes I could barely stand as I spoke God's words and had a hard time walking as I left to continue with my assignment. At times I broke down sobbing and at other times, laughing. There were things that people said to me that stood out, such as the young man about the age of 18. As I walked away from his tent, he said "See you in heaven!" Then there was a woman from Texas who told me that God had given her a vision of a heart over Texas, and He showed her that it was broken. She asked me to pray right there and then with her for God to heal the heart of Texas. There is another woman who comes to mind. This tent leader saw me pass by her tent, as I was being drawn to skip her tent and to return to it later. She watched me stop at the tent next door and then walk back to her tent when I was finished. When I arrived, she told me, "I was hoping that you would come to my tent. I saw the glory of God all over you." One of the most memorable moments during that historic gathering was on Friday night, the 6th. It was during the hours that I had signed up to lead in prayer at the RI tent from 10 PM to 12 AM. I was there with about 8 others, including my 13 year-old son and 24 year-old daughter. The others were worshippers who arrived at our tent spontaneously and were clearly God-sent. We worshipped God for 2 hours in mostly spontaneous, prophetic songs. Prophetic words−words from God's heart−came flowing out of our mouths, even my son who had never experienced this before. I fell into a deep travail when a brother started to pray for the prodigals. I found myself kneeling in the dirt, sobbing, with the burden of those who walked away from God, and praying that they would return again. A wonderful sign in the sky happened. It was the fruit of God's promise from Joel 2:30 that I prayed and decreed so many times before, "I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth." My son yelled "Look at the sky!" When we didn't pay attention to him because we were wrapped up in prayer and song, he repeated himself. "Look at the sky!" I finally stopped and looked all around us. The sky was like daytime. It was bright and had a pink hue. When we arrived at our tent at 10 PM it was pitch dark. You needed a flashlight to see where you were walking. Another verse came to my mind at that time, "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you."² At midnight, when my kids and I walked away from our tent to head back to our hotel, we realized that it was pitch dark once again. Another phenomenon or "wonder" happened during this time. While we were worshipping, I noticed a woman who had stopped in front of our tent. She had taken a picture of the sky and then I noticed her jaw drop and her eyes bug out. I watched her look from her camera and then toward our tent and then back again to her screen shot. I walked up to her and asked her what she was seeing. She explained that she had taken a picture of the large white moon in the sky but when she looked at the screen shot she saw something that was not in the sky at the time of the picture. What she saw was a moon that had a large white heart over it and in the center was what looked like a cut-out of a cross. She looked toward our tent because she noticed the banner with the US map image and the large heart in the center. This kind woman texted me the photo plus the 2nd one she took, both showing a white heart over the moon and a cross in the center. This was another confirmation to me that the US map vision is from God. Also, very interesting to note, is that 1 year later, I met a woman whom we discovered I had met on the Mall at the Delaware tent. Following ATD, God called me to found 50 STATES NIGHWATCH, an intercessory ministry. He told me to travel to the 50 states and to bring the US map banner and make the Ezekiel 36:26 decree. It seemed that what I did by traveling to the 50 tents on the Mall was a prophetic act, symbolizing that I would actually travel to the 50 states. In exactly one year's time from ATD, October 2018, God led me to do the Delaware Nightwatch at the Delaware House of Prayer in Wilmington. Once arrived and hosted in the home of the founder, we surprisingly discovered that we had met at ATD. Neither one of us remembered meeting, but we determined that it had to be. She had shown me that she possessed a US map touch card just like the ones she saw me pass out at the nightwatch. When I asked her where she got the card, she replied that she was handed it by someone at the Delaware tent. We now knew that that someone was me! Prior to leaving each of the tents on the Mall, I had handed the leader a touch card with the US map vision and decree. This 3-day prayer gathering, held during the Feast of Tabernacles in our nation's Capitol was historic and monumental for the Church and our nation. Some statistics listed on the Awaken the Dawn webpage state that "close to 50,000 people and 1,600 worship teams from all 50 states offered up 2,850 combined hours of worship and prayer in 58 tents around the clock."³ I am grateful and privileged that God chose me to be a part of it. However, my trip did not end there. On October 9th, the following day on the National Mall, was the Rise Up prayer gathering held by intercessor and prophet Lou Engle. Footnotes ¹ Awaken the Dawn.
