D.C. Wave-Part 2

RISE UP on the National Mall

Lou Engle, founder of The Call,¹ called the women of America to rise up and pray for our nation, just as Queen Esther rose up to intercede for her nation.² I arrived on the National Mall Monday morning with my son and daughter, expecting to find a small number of people, only because it had been raining all morning and there was no sign of it letting up. Several hours in, as I looked around, I was shocked at what I saw. I saw thousands covered in raincoats, plastic garbage bags and umbrellas, stretching their arms toward the heavens, tears rolling down faces, hearts pleading to God for mercy, filled with repentance on behalf of their nation.
            There was one particular memorable moment for me that day. It was when Lou Engle led us in prayer and repentance for the sin of abortion. He led ushers to pass out strips of red tape with the word LIFE and asked us at a certain time to place the tape over our mouths and to have a moment of silent prayer.³ At that moment, I was unable to place the tape over my mouth because I was laying prostrate on the wet ground weeping and wailing in a deep travail. As my heart was breaking in repentance for the deaths of our nation's unborn babies, I saw myself in a vision, walk up to God the Judge, like Esther who went before the king,⁴ where I petitioned Him to forgive us and to release His mercy instead of judgment. I will never forget that day as long as I live. The heaven's poured out rain over our faces which mingled with the tears that flowed out of our broken hearts. There is someone else who will not forget:  GOD.⁵
            This was only the first trip of 4 where God led me to go to our nation's capital to pray for D.C., our nation's governmental hub, and for our nation. The 2nd trip was for The Turnaround Conference,6 a prayer gathering hosted by Dutch Sheets Ministries in February 2018. The 3rd trip was for a national anti-human trafficking summit,⁷ during which time a new Federal law was unexpectedly passed, known as the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act.⁸ On my 4th and most recent trip, God led me to do a nightwatch in D.C. on December 14th of 2018. It was held at the American Center for Prayer and Revival9 across the street from the Supreme Court building.
            Prior to the nightwatch, my team and I headed to a restaurant for dinner. The 7 of us drove for over an hour during Friday night's rush hour and all the while I sobbed loudly and uncontrollably in a deep travail. It let up once we arrived at the restaurant until several hours later during the nightwatch. Again I found myself weeping and wailing, while face down on the floor in a puddle of my tears. The travail lasted a good hour and shortly after, one of my team members shared with the group a vision that God had given her. The vision explained the reason for my many tears. She explained that she saw the city of D.C. and all around it was garbage. Then she saw what looked like a waterfall of water that poured out from the sky and washed away all of the garbage. She said that the water was from the tears that were poured out in travailing prayer.
            Many of the saints speak of having visions of massive waves or tsunamis. I myself have been receiving such visions for the past 5 years. I recently shared in May of this year that I saw a tsunami wave coming to the Northeast.10 I felt that God was saying that this wave would be fresh, pure water that would wash away defilement and impurities. I am very grateful for these giant waves or moves of God that are hitting America. I am grateful that God has chosen to trust me with His heart. I am grateful that He uses me to pray prayers that aren't formed with words, but with cries and groans which come straight from His heart to mine. It's clear to me that God loves D.C., the heart of the nation, one which He is strategically fighting to save through His army of laid-down lovers of Jesus−those willing to obey Him, by dropping everything to go where He tells them to go, in an effort to join forces and intercede for this great nation. "United we stand. Divided we fall."
