An Intercessory Ministry
|
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men." Colossians 3:23 “This is your job," I heard God say to me right after I finished reading a passage in the Bible about the prophetess named Anna. "So what did Anna do?" you might ask. "She never left the Temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers...and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem" (Luke 2:37-38). I am employed by the King of kings. I have the best job anyone could ever have. My wages are not stored in places where they could be stolen. My wages are eternal and they are stored up in heaven. I labor in the secret place or some prefer the term "prayer closet." I am a like a Levite¹, a high priest, or another term I might use is a Nasharite². Nasharite is a term coined by Corey Russell³ that refers to a Nazarite and Daniel Nash⁴. Nash labored for souls with weeping and groaning and enabled Charles Finney⁵ to reap a great harvest of souls for Jesus. I just returned from Russell's annual Nasharite Gathering of prophetic intercessors who came from many nations. I am a general in God's army. I lead a non-profit ministry whose goal is not to reap earthly wages but to reap fruit for the Kingdom of God. I labor in my home for my husband and for my children with the goal of providing a clean, safe, peaceful and holy atmosphere. I labor to provide my family with nourishment, relaxation and fun by planning entertaining activities inside and outside our home. I labor in the secret place for each of my family members, fighting off the demons that seek to steal, kill and destroy them. I labor by begging God to save their souls from eternal damnation and to heal their bodies, minds and spirits. My laboring in the secret place does not end there, but extends outward to my extended family members, my church family, my town and state, my country, Israel, and all the nations of the earth. I labor with prayers and tears; things that can't be stored on this earth. However, the Bible says my prayers are joined with the saints and filled up in heavenly golden bowls (Revelation 5:8) and it also says that God stores up my tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). My prayers and tears are very valuable to God and His Kingdom. My labor therefore is not in vain. One may see me and profess that I do not work. I would have to disagree with that statement. A fellow intercessor once told me, "God has a Wall of Fame in heaven of intercessors." I wept at the sound of those words. I thought to myself, "God does see me. He does appreciate what I do while hidden in that secret place where He and I alone meet." Notes
